Rescue for ‘Injured’ Skin: The Journey Starts Here

You have spent years on Earth, and your skin barrier has been diligently protecting you all this time. However, like you, it encounters many struggles. Your go-to products, cosmetics, or even the seemingly innocuous high-priced skin care products may have worn down your skin barrier. A damaged skin barrier brings endless troubles, including the following problems:

Dryness: When the skin barrier is damaged, moisture tends to evaporate, leaving the skin dry and losing its glow.

Sensitivity: Skin reacts more vehemently to environmental stimuli, leading to inflammations, swelling, and itching.

Flaking and roughness: Damage to the skin barrier affects the skin cell layer, causing excessive keratinization and leaving the skin flaky and rough.

Accelerated skin aging: A broken skin barrier reduces skin resistance, allowing harmful external substances to invade more easily, leading to an increase in skin free radicals and consequently, faster aging of the skin.

Skin diseases: A damaged skin barrier leads to decreased skin resistance, making it easier for microbes to invade the skin and cause various skin diseases such as seborrheic dermatitis, hand, foot, and mouth disease, and others.

Aesthetics: A damaged skin barrier leaves the skin dry and rough, and prone to inflammation, spots, and other issues, greatly affecting one’s facial aesthetics.

So what should we do to this tired soldier? The good news is, it has its own superhuman recovery ability. The bad news? You may need to change some skin care habits, and even rearrange your sink area. There’s no time to mourn. Let’s start to repair your skin barrier.

Let the repair journey begin!

First stop: skincare clean-up station

First and foremost, understand why we need to clean our skin. The main reason is to remove debris, dirt, oils, dead skin cells, and so on. However, excessive cleaning might stimulate the skin, leading to dryness, redness, or inflammation. Choose a gentle, pH-balanced cleaning product.

Second stop: Water, water, water, and more water

Your skin barrier needs moisture to function normally, which means you need to hydrate sufficiently and lock it in properly. Dehydration causes excessive inflammation of the skin barrier, leading to dryness, swelling, and sensitivity

Third stop: Shield from the sun

Sunrays harm the skin barrier significantly. Ultraviolet rays are like the ‘trolls’ in a live chatroom, stimulating the skin and cells, causing pigmentation, wrinkles, or even skin cancer

Fourth stop: Discard the irritants

Your favourite cosmetics, imported serums, expensive face masks might be the ‘monsters’ attacking your skin. Even though they may be cool, effective, or comprised of natural ingredients, if they stimulate your skin, you should stay away from them.

Ahead of you is your destination: Smooth, healthy, and flawless skin. Repairing the skin barrier is like repairing a tedious journey. It can be tiring and painful, but only by persisting can you return to the beautiful landscape that your skin once promised.

Engage Earth’s rotation, the journey begins now.”
