The Secret to Naturally Beautiful Skin

Skin, our body’s largest organ, bears the brunt of external damages and internally reflects our overall health. Nature offers the best cure, and through a nutritive, real food diet along with a natural skincare regimen, we can not only nourish our skin but also treat and prevent skin problems.

We are often warned that beauty comes from within, and this is especially evident in our skin. The nutrients in our diet and our skincare habits play a huge role in influencing our skin. Therefore, in order to complete the transformation to naturally clean, glowing skin from the inside out, we need to turn to a more nourishing, real food diet and natural skincare routine.

Below, I will show you some simple ways to help you achieve naturally beautiful skin from the inside out.

Firstly, let’s understand how internal body problems can show up on the skin. Our skin is our body’s first line of defence, and when there are problems within the body, the skin tends to reflect them. For example, inflammation is one of the leading causes of skin problems such as acne, dryness and eczema. However, common skincare products and daily skincare habits, such as frequent cleansing of the skin with harsh cleansers, may actually exacerbate these problems. In order to radically improve our skin condition, we need to adjust our diet and lifestyle and adopt more natural and gentle skincare products.

In terms of diet, we can provide nutrients to our skin by increasing our intake of fresh fruits and vegetables. Fresh fruits and vegetables are rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, which can enhance the skin’s radiance and elasticity. In particular, some dark fruits and vegetables such as spinach, carrots and blueberries are rich in antioxidants that help reduce inflammation and boost the skin’s natural defences. Additionally, reducing your intake of inflammatory foods is key to improving your skin’s condition. Foods such as Chips, desserts and high-sugar drinks increase the inflammatory response within the body, causing the skin to lose its lustre and elasticity. Therefore, we should try to nourish our skin by choosing natural, healthy foods such as whole grains, healthy fats and fibre-rich foods.

Apart from diet, we can also improve the condition of our skin with the help of some DIY skin care products. These skincare products use real, fresh ingredients without any chemicals and are gentler and more nourishing to the skin. For example, you can make your own face masks using natural ingredients such as honey, oats and yoghurt. Honey is rich in vitamins, minerals and antibacterial substances that deep cleanse the skin while moisturising and repairing damaged skin. Oats have a gentle exfoliating action that removes dead skin cells and balances the skin’s oil production. Yoghurt contains probiotics and lactic acid to help balance the skin’s pH, reduce inflammation and repair skin damage. Mix these ingredients together, apply to your face, massage for a few minutes and then rinse off with lukewarm water – you’ll notice fresher, smoother skin.

Alternatively, you can try making your own toner. Mixing together a number of natural ingredients that have anti-inflammatory, moisturising and oil-regulating properties can help restore your skin to a healthy state. For example, tea tree oil is a powerful natural antibacterial that can reduce the occurrence of acne and inflammation. Aloe Vera has soothing and moisturising properties for sensitive skin. Witch hazel has properties that tighten skin pores and regulate oil production. Mix these ingredients together in a spray bottle and use several times a day to leave your skin feeling fresh and soft.

The eye area is the most delicate part of the skin, so it needs special care. You can create a nutrient-rich eye cream that will provide the skin under your eyes with the nourishment it needs. Cod liver oil is rich in vitamins A and D, which reduces the appearance of fine lines and eye bags. Sesame oil has moisturising and antioxidant properties that protect the eye area from free radical damage. Turtle shell and silky wood are rich in collagen and elastin to boost the elasticity and firmness of the eye area. Mixing these ingredients together and applying them to the eye skin every night with a few minutes of gentle massage will reduce the appearance of eye wrinkles and dark circles.

Finally, facial oils are an essential step in your skincare routine. You can choose from a variety of all-natural plant oils to nourish and protect your skin. Jojoba oil is a light and penetrating oil that moisturises and nourishes the skin. Almond oil is rich in vitamin E, which has antioxidant properties that can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Grapeseed oil is rich in antioxidants and can help repair damaged skin cells. Mixing these oils together and applying them to your face at night will leave your skin feeling soft, moisturised and improve its radiance and elasticity.

In addition, good habits and a positive mindset play an important role in the health of your skin. Getting enough sleep, exercising in moderation, and avoiding excessive tension and stress can all help keep your skin in a healthy state.

In short, with a healthy diet, a natural skincare routine and good habits, we can achieve naturally beautiful skin from the inside out. This natural beauty is not only long-lasting, but also boosts our confidence and well-being. Let’s start today by choosing real, fresh ingredients to improve our skin the natural way!
